We would like to take this opportunity to remind you that, as of now, the administration of the apics WA Chapter has transferred to a central office in NSW.  A dedicated committee remains on the ground in WA to ensure we understand and can meet the local needs.

Diploma of Purchasing
This Australian government recognised qualification is comprised of 9 units packaged into four modules allowing students to complete the qualification in one year. 
 
The first module for 2012, Establishing and Management Contracts and Contract Performance, starts on Wednesday 18 January.  Register by Wednesday 11 January.

CPIM Semester 1
The APICS CPIM is an internationally recognised industry certification and provides an opportunity for confirming, developing and benchmarking production, supply chain, logistics and inventory management principles and practices.  apics WA offers two modules of this certification in the first half of 2012:
 
Basics of Supply Chain Management starts 3 April

Essentials of Inventory Management
19 March & 2 April  |  9am - 4:30pm   Two day short course
 
In this course, you will be introduced to essential vocabulary and skills that will assist you in identifying and applying the basic principles of materials management and inventory control to your business.  Basic methods of planning and controlling inventory in manufacturing, asset intensive, MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul), institutional, distribution and retail environments are covered.  The questions of what to stock is addressed through an examination of current and evolving technologies of inventory management.
